At B2, reported speech becomes automatic. You handle the full concordance des temps, shift time/place markers, and report all types of speech (statements, questions, commands) fluently. The key addition: the impératif becomes 'de + infinitif', and 'si' replaces yes/no questions.

Complete tense concordance
When the reporting verb is in the past:

| Présent → Imparfait | « Je suis fatigué » → Il a dit qu'il était fatigué. |
| PC → Plus-que-parfait | « J'ai fini » → Elle a dit qu'elle avait fini. |
| Futur → Conditionnel | « Je viendrai » → Il a dit qu'il viendrait. |
| Imparfait → Imparfait (no change) | « Je dormais » → Il a dit qu'il dormait. |
| Cond. → Cond. (no change) | « Je voudrais » → Il a dit qu'il voudrait. |
| Impératif → de + infinitif | « Pars ! » → Il m'a dit de partir. |
